0-2 Bed selection for ages
Just choose a model exclusively for Childrens !
It is important for babies to sleep in beds with soft and breathable tissues, especially in the first year of their lives, by observing the risk of ABOS. Adult beds are therefore not recommended for the development of spine. Bedding manufacturers produce high-density custom bed models for babies, while choosing to compare the characteristics of these models to determine the one that best suits you.
Do not skip key features
The main features of a good baby bed is that it has breathable tissue, not too soft, does not contain harmful chemicals… The bed cover is suitable for contact with baby skin and washable, no chemicals, organic filling materials plus other features that can be written in the household.
Choose the right size bed
It is important that your bed fits exactly to the cradle of your baby or to the park bed. “There shouldn’t be more space between the bed and the cradle than the two fingers.“
Stay away from second hand
Use of second hand or old bedding for infants is not recommended in terms of both spine development and comfort, hence the risk of eczema, allergies and asthma.
Bed selection for after 2 years
From baby to childhood step-by-step, one of the important turning points is to move from cradle to Crib. This change, which is between 18 months and 3 years old, brings a new bed exchange.
Mattress according to filler materials
The most traditional, sponge beds of fabricated bed. In sponge beds, the main filler material is on the name, sponge plates. As the density of the filler sponge increases, the stiffness of the bed also increases its durability.
Spring mattresses consist of two large metal frames called carcass, and springs that are fastened to each other. In spring beds, outside of the steel assembly sponge is used for support with filler layers, such as fibers, and sponges called the wedge. Even though the market is made with much more advanced technologies, spring beds are indispensable for their economic formation. It is an advantage that spring beds are lighter than other beds.
Package spring mattresses
Softer and more flexible steel springs are used in small packages compared to spring bed in package spring bed system. This system supports the body shape better. And because each package spreads independently of each other, the movements during sleep are less uncomfortable.
The most popular of the bed market is the visco mattresses. Visco beds are basically using space technology, because the material used in bed was produced by NASA to reduce the pressure that astronauts were subjected to from space journeys. It fills the body cavity with a smart sponge, called “Memory foam“, which collapges with weight, thus retaining the natural curvature of the spine. This is an ideal property for adults, but it can become a disadvantage for children. Visco mattress are not recommended for up to three years since it does not support spine development due to the excess of the burial sensation. Visco beds are not fully Visco-used, with support sponges inside. Density i.e. density rate varies from model to model, the right densitation Visco bed selection is important in terms of supporting your child’s comfort and spine development.
Another concern about the use of visco deposits as a child’s bed is related to the use of chemicals. Visco deposits are known to have some chemicals, mainly TDI and polyol. There are narrow opinions that these chemicals can harm children by inhalation. Visco has no scientific data on whether it is harmful yet because it is a very new technology. The range of quality in Visco beds is very wide. As a precaution, high quality visco bearings with various ergonomics and safety certificates can be preferred.
Natural latex is a foam material derived from the essence of the rubber tree. Synthetic latex mattresses are also available in the market and they are not replacing the natural quality. The most important advantage of natural latex deposits is that it is a breathable material that allows air flow. In addition, durable latex mattresses can be used for many years. Unlike Viscodan, there is no feeling of being buried in latex beds, it gives a more sense of spring mattress. This is also an important advantage in terms of spine development. The disadvantage of latex deposits, which are converted into beds by freezing in special moulded blocks, are too heavy. Some users also complain about sweating. The quality of the bed, which is decisive.
Beds filled with natural materials such as wool, cotton, coconut fibre, bamboo and even horse hair, camel feather, Thai feather are generally in the organic bed class. These beds are also used in supporting systems such as visco, latex or package spring. Organic beds are cool in summer with their breath-taking structures, keeping warm in winter. Antibacterial is also a factor in preferring as a child’s bed. However, it is especially beneficial to pay attention to the possibility of allergies in wool beds.
